I love pillows. I love big soft pillows.
Every month I host a Wine, Cheese and Disney Movie Night but there isn’t a lot of room on the couch or in my princess corner to allow everyone a cozy seat so I decided to make a new space. I really wanted a nice soft large pillow that can be easily stored and moved about. I spent a half hour browsing through Pinterest until I came across this easy tutorial on how to create a floor pillow.
I can’t believe how easy this was. I purchased two five dollar blankets from Walmart (one already had slits) instead of going to a fabric store. It was surprisingly easy to find the material I wanted considering Fall is here and everyone wants nice warm fleece blankets. When looking for the soft velvety top layer, I looked for something that wouldn’t fray. I’m pretty sure the purple material I bought is some kind of polyester. Either way, the two pieces were cheap (i’m sure you can find cheaper).
From there, I followed the instructions from “The Kitchen and The Cave’s” post. I didn’t have a lot of stuffing and i’m on a budget so I actually filled my pillow with a few unused blankets, pillows, and a wee bit of stuffing I had left over. It still feels the same and since it wasn’t sewn, when i finally purchase stuffing, I can take everything out and stuff it again!
I’m very thankful to “The Kitchen and The Cave” for sharing this easy and awesome tutorial!
